Max wins against WGM (Womens Grandmaster) Anjelina Belakovskaia (2373), 1999 US Womens Champion in simul!
Anjelina played a simul Tuesday May 30 against about 25 players Tuesday afternoon May 30 in MetroTech in Brooklyn. Most players lost. There were 2 or 3 winners, I think, in addition to Max.
Max's game was one of the last to finish. Anjelina sacrificed a couple of pawns near the beginning to get excellent space and development for her pieces. But Max held on, played well, and eventually, trapped her rook. At that point, she resigned - she smiled and shook Max's hand.
